BEGINNERS 3 DAY BLACKSMITHING COURSE
I took part in a 3 Day Blacksmithing Course in the North East of England. A Master Craftsman lead us through the course which resulted in three excellent decorative mild steel items to take home. We made a Rat Tail Poker, a Hanging Basket Bracket Assembly & A Rams Head Fork. The experience was useful to understand older techniques in metal forming, manipulation and decoration. His course is still available

GLASS BLOWING

BEGINNERS GLASS BLOWING COURSE.
I was interested to know more about Glass Blowing from a more creative side of the equation having worked in Corporate Glass Production Facilities. This course literally gave me a real taste for glass, how it moves and can be manipulated with heat, the choice of colours and the relative 'BLANK CANVAS' that you would have with these types of work pieces. Here you can see the final pieces of left to right:
0 1. An Olive Oil Container with Pouring Spout - Yellow & Brown Glass
02. A Cant Bowl - Yellow & Orange Glass
03. A Paper Weight - Black & Silver Glass
04. A Flowing Liquid Ornament - Blue & Silver & White Glass
